Carlos Alcaraz Officially Announces US Open Return: “Here We Go!”

Carlos Alcaraz is officially back! The Spanish superstar has confirmed that he will return to competitive tennis at the 2026 US Open, ending a four-month absence caused by a right wrist injury.

Alcaraz made the announcement on social media with the words “Here we go!”, using a football-transfer-style reveal alongside journalist Fabrizio Romano. The official US Open also confirmed that the defending champion will return to action in New York.

The 23-year-old has not competed since April after suffering the wrist problem, which forced him to miss Roland Garros, Wimbledon, Toronto and Cincinnati. He had initially hoped to return at Cincinnati but decided to give himself more time to recover fully.

Alcaraz Set to Defend His US Open Title

The 2026 US Open begins on August 30, meaning Alcaraz will make his comeback in just over a week. He will be aiming to defend the title he won last year after defeating Jannik Sinner in the final.
