 The headline-grabbing dream team of Serena Williams and Carlos Alcaraz saw their electrifying US Open mixed doubles run come to an end at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

After sweeping past Lloyd Glasspool and Erin Routliffe in their opening match earlier in the day, the superstar duo was halted in the quarterfinals by 4th seeds Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli, who secured a clean 5-4(4), 4-1 victory.

A Tight Opener Decided by Small Margins

The opening set delivered non-stop action under the Fast4 format. Both teams held firm on serve to force a 3–3 tiebreak.

Despite brilliant net play from Alcaraz and huge booming serves from 23-time singles Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, the experienced pair of Bencic and Cobolli—who won the Indian Wells mixed title together earlier this year—snatched the opening set tiebreak 7–4.
